Hey SoS,
This week, we finished up a presentation on Unit Testing and got to see some progress from teams!
Believe it or not, weâre now past the midway point for July and that means itâs crunch time to demo something before the end of the month!
While technically summer doesnât end until late September, our Thursday meetings are only scheduled until the end of July. In August, we may continue to meet, but not in the same manner where we have presentations and demos that are uploaded to YouTube.
As recruiting season for next summer is already picking up, I want to start transitioning into thinking about how we can âmarketâ our projects such that they have maximum resume appeal.
Remember, a decent project is simply one that shows a recruiter that youâre minimally familiar with certain technologies. If a company is a Java shop, make sure to accentuate that (and so on).
An Emergent Schedule?
In recent weeks, weâve converged on an interesting weekly schedule:
Tuesdays at 5PM Pacific - Interview Prep
NEW - Wednesdays at 5PM Pacific - Study Group for âDesigning Data Intensive Applicationsâ
Thursdays at 5PM Pacific - Presentations and Demos (although Presentations will likely stop after July)
I kind of like this - the regularity is nice and predictable. I definitely didnât plan for this to happen, but will be intrigued to see how it evolves. Hope to see you on Wednesday for the Study Group!
Alright, hope you had a great Week 11 and were able to record a few ânon -zero daysâ!
Until next time,
âïžđą
Phil
